This article explains how Hot Giggity handles Superannuation Guarantee (SG) for Private Function bookings when the act owner is a sole trader (so SG applies). It also shows how the deposit and balance invoices are generated and where the GST-free super line appears.
For the full step-by-step Function Booking process, see this support article.
What you’ll see
When you select Private Function on a new booking where the act owner is a sole trader, the Super breakdown panel appears in Fee Details.
Create Booking → Private Function.
In Fee Details enter the Performance fee (ex Tax) and your Agent commission. Leave Fee includes super Off (recommended).
Hot Giggity will calculate the Super paid to Act at the current SG rate and show you the Total to Venue (ex Tax) figure.
Set Deposit amount (or percentage) and the Balance is calculated automatically.
Choose Deposit Due and Balance Due dates.
Click Process Booking
Notify Client
In Notify Client, tick Send invoice(s) to client and send.
Hot Giggity issues two invoices:
Deposit invoice (deposit fee only, GST calculated in the usual way).
Balance invoice (shows an SG line item that is GST-free and excludes that SG amount from the GST base automatically).
What the client sees
Deposit invoice —-standard tax invoice for the deposit on the agreed fee (no SG line). Example: the deposit invoice displays the fee, GST base, and GST at 10% on the fee; there’s no super line on this deposit.
Balance invoice - includes a separate line “Superannuation (aggregated)” marked GST Free; GST is calculated on the fee excluding super (the invoice table shows “GST base (ex-super)” and the GST total is computed on that base only).
This presentation makes the SG component clear to the hirer while keeping the GST treatment compliant (SG is not subject to GST; GST is applied to the fee excluding super). The provided examples show exactly how these lines appear to the client.
